Kerala is known to be the "Gods Own Country" and that cements to be a reason as it showcases various aspects for every traveler to explore this wonderful destination. In fact, there are a lot many places which are still unexplored in Kerala, and this place is one of them and can be described as the routeway to heaven with its scenic and naturistic beauty that makes every traveler awe of this little place.

This place is located inside the territory of Calicut district in Kerala, which is also known as the food capital of Kerala. This backwater has been hidden from the travelers for a while and now it's been explored by many. The soothing breeze and the chirping birds takes us to an enchanting boat ride through the backwaters. This backwater is actually a part of the "Kadalundi" bird sanctuary where one can witness various migratory birds during the peak season.

It's the local community that has come forward by foreseeing the tourism potential this destination has, it's an hour boat ride through the backwaters which showcases the little islands that are connected well within the backwaters. The best time for this boat ride is during the rainy season kicks in Kerala June till September Mid, that is when one can witness the lush green nature and a thrilling boat ride which will definitely turn out to be the best time with your loved one's.

Away from the city noises hearing the chirping of birds and the healing power of nature, these moments are to be captured. The most interesting part of this journey is that we get unlimited lunch once we are back after the ride. 

This was the best part of my ride as I am a foodie who loves to explore different tastes all the time, but this was something else that can't be expressed through words. The local community is providing unlimited lunch with all those locally and freshly prepared dishes, especially their special "Karimeen" fry that too freshly caught from their own fish farm. So overall this place is a heaven for every single traveler who loves to explore the hidden treasures in Kerala.

This place lies totally away from city life thus it's been less explored and definitely the best place that would fill your heart and tummy at the same time. It's been managed by a group of the local community named "Island Tourism Kadalundi" and this was one of the best experiences that I am fortunate to have in my life.

So make sure to visit this destination especially during the mansion season in Kerala. The ride ends at a place where the river and the sea meets and greets each other which is another astonishing view that melts our heart. This place is located 19 km away from the Calicut town that counts to around a 45 Minutes drive.
